The NCSEA Foundation also extends its appreciation to Tricia Ruby (Ruby + Associates, a Degenkolb Company/Structural Engineers Association of Michigan), for her service as Past President.
“This Board reflects the depth of leadership and shared commitment across our profession,” said Al Spada, NCSEA CEO and Executive Director. “Their perspective and experience will be critical as the Foundation continues to expand its reach—supporting innovation, strengthening the profession, and creating new pathways for engagement.”
Advancing the Profession and Inspiring the Future
Through the leadership of its Board, the NCSEA Foundation supports initiatives that advance technical excellence, promote innovation, and elevate public understanding of structural engineering. The Foundation plays a key role in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and embodied carbon, while also leading NCSEA’s We SEE Above & Beyond campaign to highlight the essential contributions of structural engineers in building safe, resilient communities.
In addition, the Foundation is investing in the future of the profession through its Future Builders initiative—an effort designed to introduce K–12 students to structural engineering through hands-on learning and real-world applications. By creating early awareness and engagement, Future Builders is helping build a stronger, more diverse pipeline of future engineers.
The Foundation also continues to provide scholarships to students and grant support to state-level SEAs, further strengthening the profession at every stage.
